Delancey Society Excursion: A Bibliophile’s Guide to Charlottesville

  • Monticello 1050 Monticello Loop Charlottesville, VA, 22902 United States (map)

A special invitation to our Delancey Society members.

As the Rosenbach and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation prepare to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, we are pleased to offer a once-in-a-lifetime glimpse into the complex history of Jefferson’s famed plantation estate and the libraries he built and enjoyed there. Our activities over the course of three days, from October 23 to October 26, will include behind-the-scenes tours of Monticello and its grounds (with a special focus on the library suite), hands-on book history workshops at Rare Book School, a tour of the University of Virginia’s special collections, and fine dining in and around Charlottesville.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact Megan K. McCarthy, Ph.D., Director of Advancement, at mmccarthy@rosenbach.org.
